Hello Franklin Families,

Thank you for coming out to our All School Assembly last Friday as we celebrated our Franklin core value of ‘Kindness’ and launched our next core value, ‘Respect’ with our dynamic 2nd graders in action dancing and singing! Ms. Pickett and I are on the move with ‘Loving and Living Literature with the Franklin Core Values’ every month and we are enjoying reading The Name Jar by Yangsook Choi exemplifying respect.  Please join us in talking to your children all about respect and discussing examples in your household, at Franklin, and out and about in our community! The date for our next All School Assembly has been changed to Friday, November 7th at 8:30.

We had a terrific turn out for our Bike It Walk It Week culminating in our fabulous Franklin Block Party today on Idaho street. Thank you to everyone for your participation! We love seeing so many Franklin faces walking and biking to school every day and leaving their cars behind – thank you!

• Next Thursday, 10/16 at 10:16 am is the Great California ShakeOut, where all California schools will be practicing a ‘Drop, Cover, and Hold’ drill, to practice the safety procedures in order to be best prepared in the event of an earthquake.

• Next Wednesday, 10/15 at 8:45 am is ‘Coffee with the Principal’ in our cafetorium, so come for some Franklin coffee and casual conversations!
