Hello Franklin Families,
Thank you for attending our 3rd-5th grade Back to School Night this week, we had a wonderful turn out! I will be hosting a ‘Coffee with the Principal’ next Wednesday, Sept 10 in the Cafetorium, so I hope to see you there. Please plan on coming to our annual Back-to-School Picnic on Sept 12 at 5:00 on our Big Yard. Speaking of our big yard, I had a great time at our first monthly dance party with each grade level at their morning recess times last Friday! I took lots of song requests and we all had a great time dancing and singing their favorite songs together. I look forward to our monthly dance parties that will take place at all of our upcoming assembly Fridays – which are also our Fabulous Franklin Friday school spirit days! Please mark ALL of the dates on your calendar, so you can join us – we love having parents attend our schoolwide asssemblies; 10/3, 10/24, 12/5, 1/23, 2/27, 3/20, 4/24, 5/29 and 6/5 (these dates are on the PTA calendar).
Thank you so much for the wonderful work you are doing to foster your child’s responsibility and independence on a daily basis! We appreciate the conversations you are having with your children to make sure that they remember to come prepared to school every day with their homework, lunch, water bottle, and musical instrument (on Tuesdays/Thursdays).
Some Important Reminders.…
• Please be EXTRA careful and vigilant when pulling to the curb to drop off and pick up your child. Many of our students are coming to school on bikes and entering the street to ride when they leave school.
• Please ensure that your child leaves the house every day with closed-toed sneakers of some type. All of our students have physical education every day and run and play at recess and climb on the playground structures. Crocs and sandals are not safe, so please make sure they do not wear these type of shoes to school.
• Our wonderful Franklin Front Office is open daily from 8:15 am-3:30 pm, so make sure to come during this time if you need assistance or have a question about anything school related.
• Reminder: the new District policy is that 3 Tardies equals a Truant and that leaving school early 3 times equals an absence. Make sure to schedule any appointments after your child’s school day is over. Any Wednesday after 1:30 is a great time. We also have a pupil-free day on November 4 and minimum days November 5, 6, and 7. Thank You. Thank You
