Dear Franklin Families, 

What a Fabulous Franklin Assembly we had last Friday! The Kindergarten Team did a wonderful job kicking off our new Franklin Core Value of Sportsmanship and Inclusion with some amazing, in-action teacher-led examples! Ms. Pickett and I look forward to reading books to classes and having some great discussions: Inspiring Stories of Sportsmanship, Brave Ballerina: The Story of Janet Collins, Evie’s Field Day, The Hard Hat: A story about 10 ways to be a good teammate, and Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns About Sportsmanship. We encourage you to go to the library and pick out books with your children about sportsmanship. Please take some time to talk to your children at home about examples of sportsmanship on and off the field/court/gym/yard, etc. We also heard some great words of wisdom on this topic from our PE coaches and 4th graders… loved their posters too! The 4th and 5th grade Dance Team continually models great sportsmanship in their weekly practices - above is a photo of the 5th grade dance leaders - hooray! We continued to celebrate our Mathletes, as part of Math Olympiad, our musicians in Stairway to the Stars, our Book Avengers, as part of Battle of the Books, and our 4th and 5th grade boys’ and girls’ basketball teams in their journey to champions exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship throughout----- Quadruple Hooray!

Thank you for coming to tour your children’s classrooms last night at our Annual Open House! I know that our students loved showing you their hard work, accomplishments, and projects on display around their classrooms. We hope they taught you a lot :). AND a big thank you to our extremely talented teaching staff, who lead and plan such meaningful instruction for our students every day!

2026-2027 School Year: Please be on the lookout for an email from me that will be going out on Monday, April 13th to all Franklin parents/guardians. For important enrollment information, we need you to confirm that your child Will or Will Not be returning to Franklin next 2026-2027 school year. This information is essential as we plan for our grade levels and total teacher staffing ratios. In this email on April 13th, I will also be explaining our classroom placement process for next year and you will have the opportunity to provide us input regarding your child as well.
