Hello Franklin Families,
Thank you for attending our TK – 2nd grade Back-to-School Night this week – we had a wonderful turn out! I look forward to seeing those of you with 3rd – 5th grade children next Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:30 pm in the cafetorium and then you will proceed to your child’s classroom for their individual presentations at 7:00 pm. I will also be hosting a ‘Coffee with the Principal’ on Wednesday, September 10 in the Cafetorium, so I hope to see you there and at our Back-to-School Picnic on September 12 at 5:00 on our Big Yard . It was wonderful to see so many parents at our first All School Outdoor Monthly Assembly this morning, where we launched the first of our 9 Franklin Core Values, Kindness. We loved hearing students share examples of kindness in action at Franklin this year so far, and we are excited to see many more examples going on throughout the Franklin community for the month ahead. Thank you for making time to talk all about kindness with your children at home and ask them to share examples. To highlight our monthly value, we are starting something new this year called; Loving and Living Literature with the Franklin Core Values. Miss Pickett and I can’t wait to begin reading our featured literature book, Giraffes Can’t Dance, in classrooms during the month of September!
Some Important Reminders.…
• Do not rush... plan ahead the night before for a smooth and relaxing journey to Franklin. The safety of all children and our valet volunteers depend on you. Leave in plenty of time to arrive at school by 8:25.
• Fabulous Franklin Fridays are here– remind your child to wear a Franklin T-Shirt, join in the school spirit and get ready for Ms. Burton’s monthly dance parties on the yard during recess on assembly dates.
• Our wonderful Franklin Front Office is open daily from 8:15 am – 3:30 pm, so make sure to come during this time if you need assistance or have a question about anything school related.
• Reminder: the new District policy is that 3 Tardies equals a Truant and that leaving school early 3 times equals an absence. Make sure to schedule any appointments after your child’s school day is over. Thank You
