Dear Franklin Families, It was wonderful to see so many of you at our All-School Assembly last Friday as we celebrated our Franklin Core Value of Honesty and watched our 4th graders proudly launch our next Core Value: Responsibility. Ms. Pickett and I are looking forward to visiting classrooms and reading books that illustrate Responsibility: The Firekeeper’s Son, All the Places to Love, Pigsty, and Peppe the Lamplighter. We invite you to continue these important conversations at home and encourage you to visit the library together to enjoy some of these stories. This is a great opportunity to talk with your children about what Responsibility looks like at Franklin, at home, and in the broader community. We also loved the fabulous, dynamic, and uplifting performance from our 4th and 5th Grade Dance Team. We commend them for their dedication and commitment—memorizing that much choreography is no small feat! Go Franklin Dance Team! As you know, we currently have an exciting $25,000 Franklin match underway to support the incredible arts and science programs, teacher professional development, and classroom instructional assistants funded through SMEF. Our goal is to secure 67 new Franklin family donors—and every dollar counts! To add a little fun to the challenge: The grade level with the highest number of new donors will enter all of its students into a drawing and 5 students will join me for a special school-day outing to create their dream ice cream sundaes at Van Leeuwen’s. If Franklin reaches 67 new donors, we will celebrate with a visit from the LA Galaxy mascot and representative players at an upcoming All-School Assembly!
