Hello Franklin Families,

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Bike It Walk It week and fantastic Block Party last Friday and looking forward to the Campout tonight! And right around the corner is our annual Move-A-Thon taking placing on November 14 – can’t wait to see it in action! Thank you for helping your child walk around and call friends and family to secure many enthusiastic sponsors for our biggest fundraiser of the year! I am continually grateful for the many Franklin parent volunteers, who make all of these exciting events possible!

We are all about our highlighted Core Value, RESPECT,  this October at Franklin and are very appreciative of our 2nd graders, who made this amazing bulletin board (see photo) about RESPECT. Ms. Pickett and I also did some interactive anti-bully presentations with all of our 3rd – 5th grade classrooms about the decisions we make on a daily basis to help build a positive and supportive social environment at Franklin. They all shared excellent examples of what it means to be an ‘Upstander’ and not a passive bystander if they ever see any indications of bullying behaviors at Franklin. We were very clear about our expectations and reinforced that they should go to an adult if they ever see this occurring. Ms. Pickett and I love being proactive in engaging with students and facilitating conversations with them about how to make Franklin soar socially!
