Dear Franklin Families,

Above is a snapshot of our Franklin ‘Be the Change’ Team running to support the nonprofit, Upward Bound, Go Franklin – we had so much fun supporting a great cause!  We also had a great first week of CAASP testing for our 3rd – 5th graders and thank you to all of you for ensuring that your children are well rested, eat a healthy breakfast and bring a healthy snack to school every day. We continue with CAASP testing next week. Please take a moment if you are volunteering on campus to check out our new Franklin Core Value Bulletin Board (photo was in last Friday’s Flash) in our main hallway.  Our first graders did a fabulous job of launching our May Core Value, ‘Personal Best’ at our assembly and have followed up with great ‘Personal Best’ examples on the bulletin board. Some great books that I encourage you to check out from the library and read with your children that illustrate personal best are; Remarkably YOU, The Magic of Me and My Magical Choices, and Be Your BEST Self; Life Skills for Unstoppable Kids, and look for more books on your own, so that you can have fun reading and making connections with your children about how they can demonstrate personal best at school, at home, and beyond!  Again, thank you so much for continuing to have having meaningful conversations with your children around our Franklin Core Values!

Congratulations to our amazing 4th and 5th graders who participated in the Science Olympiad tournament last weekend and came away with a 2nd place Silver Medal – congratulations to them! Thank you to our amazing PTA and all of the parents for your donations to make the incredible Math and Science Olympiads possible for our 4th and 5th graders this year!  We are grateful for all of the wonderful enrichment programs that our PTA makes possible for our students all year long.

Make sure you come out a week from today, yes, Friday, May 15th for our amazing outdoor on the lawn Movie Night featuring Zootopia 2!  You can come and gather at 7:00 pm and pick your favorite spot and bring a blanket, sleeping bag, pillow and some cash if you want to buy some ‘movie concession snacks’.  Movie begins at 7:45 - Look forward to seeing you there!
