Dear Franklin Families,

Thank you to everyone who participated in our amazing Multicultural Fair – it was fabulous to see over 25 countries represented by Franklin families and the array of performances!

Our Franklin Chess tournament was also a great success and we are cheering on those competing in the inter-school tournament tomorrow – good luck and GO Franklin Bolts!

Sunday brings on the great Franklin ‘Be the Change’ Team running to support the nonprofit, Upward Bound, that provides temporary housing and support services to homeless families…. AND we will be running right from there to our Franklin School Beautification Day this Sunday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm – please come and help us make our campus squeaky clean! We are thankful to our Student Council Green Team Leaders for helping to build our student enthusiasm around this community event.

Please join us in supporting our 5th graders in their philanthropic project this spring; Student LunchBox, which helps collect and distribute food and essential goods to college students in need – we have donation bins in our office. Thank you for your support!

April is Autism Acceptance Month; we celebrate and honor the experiences and identities of Autistic individuals. We emphasize understanding, inclusion, support, and meaningful acceptance, while welcoming all styles of learning.  At Franklin, we create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone is valued, respected, and supported in their chosen communication and sensory needs. We recognize and celebrate many strengths, encourage friendships, and appreciate the uniqueness each student brings to our community.  This month is a great reminder for all of us to focus on inclusion and learning from one another, in our classrooms, on the playground, and throughout our entire campus and community.

All families are invited to our annual fun and engaging P.S. ARTS Family Art Night next Wednesday, April 29th from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in our cafetorium. P.S. ARTS Teaching Artists will lead families in a hands-on visual arts project that encourages parents and students to work together creatively. Please come out and join us in the artistic fun!
